I have no problem with being laid off in transition. I know Lag isn't laid off at the top of his swing, so I get the feeling that he doesn't mind a laid off move in transition as well. When I think of laid off PGA Tour golfers, I usually think of Ian Poulter and Tiger. Tiger's worst ballstriking happened when the Haney swing got him laid off. Poulter isn't a good ballstriker by PGA Tour standards, but hits a lot of bad shots and then a lot of great shots and has a great short game.
Across the line to me usually isn't a bad thing. You might get your path too far out to the right doing that, but I think it's easier to square that path up eventually.
But, it all depends on the golfer. I'm pretty positive that my misses (fat or closed face) usually happen with the laid off move at the top. If I didn't have those things, I wouldn't have an issue with being laid off at the top.

Good news. I just purchased a brand new Casio EX-FH20 for $240. I should be getting it in the mail next Wednesday or so.

Here's a latest swing for me. I feel like the backswing is almost there. The downswing needs a lot of work and I was trying a couple of things tonight. I'm getting a lesson tomorrow with George. 7-iron, caught it a little fat.

Just had a lesson with George this morning. I had the right idea of what we had to work on, but he clarified it for me better. Swing started to look really nice.

Here's a DTL from today. Some of the changes are slowly getting there.

Love the look of the club post impact, got to be some solid ball striking with that. Just signed up with Bradley Hughes to do his ABS modules in the vain hopes to acheive something similar... We will see.

The biggest difference, among many, from the original swing to now is the shoulder movement on both the backswing and downswing.

Heres a swing I took yesterday, sweating my ass off.
The follow thru looks weird, but that's mostly due to having a funky lie. Some lightbulbs have been going on lately and it's starting to take.
I'm getting to the point now that when I first get on the range my swing looks ugly as sin, but I've got a good feel for what I'm doing wrong and midway thru are start swinging it quite well.
