I'm curious if medical doctors would qualify.
Many medical doctors are not really researchers per say, but they have done a ton of work and study in their area of expertise. That doesn't mean that they are always right or not have half cocked theories, but I think if one were to grab, let's say 7 doctors in one particular field...and they all gave the same consensus, I think that would give a pretty good answer.
To me, I understand a bit where Mike is coming from. He's more interested in what scientists and researchers say. I think that he finds that more valid.
That doesn't mean Mike is right or wrong or he's better or worse, it's just the way he views and values and judges things when it comes to the swing.
Others may be more concerned with things like it making sense and for them to easily apply it.
That doesn't make them wrong or lesser in their swing knowledge, it just makes them different.

I have a medical background and my wife is an active researcher and clinician in oncology. i am not well versed,,scratch that,,,i am not versed like you guys with golf info, but i do read golf related info with great interest for various reasons, one of which is that the words like "science" and "scientists" are being thrown to intimate people more than to inform people. i think it is a pity.
My older kid volunteers in USGA helping to catalogue old records and have learned a lot about the history of this great game, built on integrity and honor. i hesitate to share with her what i am witnessing. exchange of ideas? how about a circus of egos to be honest for a second!

golfdad, who am i intimidating? i'm asking a simple question
if you asked me who my source was on golf swing mechanics 20 years ago, i would have said homer kelley and the boeing engineering department
my answer has changed and has been upgraded......tuxen, grober, mackenzie, welch, neal, wood, zick, etc., etc., etc......this is not that difficult

I see absolutely no significance in the question I see LOTS of significance unless S & T has said that they have the best swing, because they consulted with scientists. You'ld be surprised what has been said Michael, why not be straightforward and just say what you mean? A direct approach usually means less miscommunication. An ambiguous one ruffles the feathers all the same.

I think if you asked an instructor currently on the darom approved list they would be able to talk a bit about Mac's sources. There's obviously TGM in there (though I don't want to debate the 'scientific' nature of it)
Out of interest, Mike, how has your increased scientific knowledge affected your teaching?

Eric, You teach stack and tilt and do not know where the information comes from? I'm not Eric, but I'll answer: ask the source - don't assume. That's all I'm sayin'. Have a good day.

why would Andy or Mike feel the need to answer your question? you obviously don't like S&T and are from another camp
do you see them asking you questions? just worry about your stuff and keep researching/teaching or whatever you do

Okay, this thread isn't going anywhere so I'm going to lock it down.
Mike wants to know what scientists/researches that Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett have worked with (besides Dr. Robert Grober) and we are not getting any answers, just arguments.
Both sides don't like each other, we get it.
It doesn't really matter much to me if Andy and Mike worked with scientists or they didn't. I suspect that they have, but I think Mike's question is a good one.
If anybody wants to give me the information to post here and doesn't want to be bothered about it or whatever...just PM me or e-mail me at Richie3Jack@yahoo.com.
Thanks,
