Interesting look at Kevin Chappell's swing versus Boo Weekley's:
Chappell works with Mark Blackburn. Weekley worked with Blackburn for years, switched teachers and now I'm not sure who he's working with.
Both have fairly narrow stances, wide takeaways and get the butt of the club well forward at p6. And both are great ballstrikers.
Weekley is the better driver, but Chappell is very good (usually in the top-1/4 in Driving Effectiveness).
Chappell is the better iron player. They are about the same from the Red Zone (175-225 yards), usually ranking in the top-25. But Chappell is clearly superior from 75-175 yards.

They really do look very similar to my eye. Both with "quiet", yet unrestricted lower bodies, every simple arm movements, and a distinct and strong throwing right elbow movement. When I saw Boo in person that's the one thing that stood out compared to the other players...the super magnified right elbow move that seemed to initiate the downswing when viewed in real time.
Chappell has some odd movements at the top with his upper body, as if he's waiting for his arms to re-sync, and his head moves distinctly to the target. Whereas Boo is synced all the way through the top and his head remains absolutely still throughout the swing.
The other thing I noticed was how the weight moved through the left foot through impact. Chappell seems to initially move towards his left toes on the downswing before shifting back through impact and ending on his heel. Perhaps related, it almost looks like he's on his left heel at address. Boo on the other hand looks like he stays very balanced throughout and only rolls onto his left heel in the finish.

Gads - I love watching Boo swing. I had never put the two swings together before - I guess I'm blinded by the difference in body type. (is Boo a body type?)
Love the right elbow though - I need to work on that

Kevin doing great at Barclays swing looks solid Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I would suggest him to contact Frank Dorlinger. Actually Tiger doesn't need a swing coach. He needs more understanding how body works. Not details but overall understanding
