What about for face balanced putters? IIRC, Mangum doesn't like face balanced. I can't remember why though After reading the Karlsen/Nilssen study on putting, I don't like mallets. I do believe that a 'firm' grip is important in putting. The trick is differentiating from firm grip vs. death grip. Even Mangum has a hard time differentiating between the two in his video because there are so many factors involved going from individual to individual. But, I've found that because golfers are taught to have a light grip, they generally tend to get the yips from that instead of preventing them. I think they look at golfers with the yips as having death grips...which may be true. But I think going on the opposite end of the spectrum is just as hazardous. Anyway, good to hear you're putting better. 3JACK

I originally didn't like the idea of a face balanced putter either, due to the fact the putting stroke is on an arc. However after trying some 50+ putters I get better results with a face balanced blade with less than a half shaft of offset than anything else.
So science be damned on this one, because I am starting the ball consistently on my line now.
