Virtuoso, sir. I see you have a thirst for MOG work. Moving on from that do you know of the existence of a complete DAROM book including all chapters? I've seen over time a PDF that includes I'd guess 60% of the real thing without complete work in some chapters. hey Mike, I am no DAROM expert, in fact I know very little about what MOG teaches now. I used to have a bunch of VHS footage of him hitting balls around 1990ish and talking about what he was working on then. But that is the era of his swing I'm interested in. Richie knows quite a bit because his instructor is DAROM certified, but I don't think he's at liberty to say much because the DAROM guys teach the system in pretty strict confidence. I know he's been working on a manuscript since the 80's but I've never seen any of it. Interestingly, I did write him some letters in around 88 asking him about his swing theories. Never heard back--nor did I really expect to. Then a buddy of mine ran into him at the PGA tour event in Mississippi around 94 or 95. he told MOG I was obsessed with his swing and MOG said, yes, he remembered my letters and was going to put me in his book?! Don't know how.....maybe as a character schooled my Henry PP Farnsworth. And then, a current good friend of mine, who is the son of MOG's high school golf coach was talking to him about a year ago and he said he knew me. My friend asked if MOG wanted to meet me and MOG said, "ABSOLUTELY NOT." One thing for sure, the day I followed him around the course at the first round of 1987 T Of C at La Costa....that was a watershed moment for me. In terms of ball striking, there was MOG....and then everyone else.

Virtuoso,
That post has made my day. It's good to hear tales of the folk on tour. A guy I work with spent 3 days with MOG in the UK recently and said he was a different breed. He said he's as mad as a hatter but not in a crazyw at more in a highly enthusiastic way. Almost another Richard Feynman way if you are aware of him (if not YouTube the scientist or better titled explorer of life).
He mentioned some of the things MOG mentioned were genius in that it was something that under normal circumstances you'd never inspect. An example but no way correct is something like realising if you stuck your tongue out at address you'd likely hit a push fade (I made that up to save trade secrets but it's that kind of random detail that MOG would pick out.
I know the 1986 range videos that have not surfaced as such but some people are aware of are kind of the taster for the search for the holy grail. It's a good journey but to experience MOG in his prime is something you can treasure and others can't. Have you ever read the MOG book by a sponsor of his Rapheal in the early days.

hey mike, quite aware of feynman. I read his book "surely, your joking".
I stumbled on to Feynman because I was just trying to learn basic physics (so I could better understand the golf swing)at the library. I also read his "easy pieces" books.
Unfortunately I have read the Raphael Shapiro book. It was clearly unedited by any profesional and is no doubt the worst written book I have ever read and am likely to ever read. Not only is it below 7th grade writing levels, if you can imagine, the organization of the material is even worse than the basic writing mechanics.
Shapiro clearly has an axe to grind and it is a very depressing read. No doubt, MOG has a challenging personality, and this book hammered that home in every other sentence. But, even if you are super hungry for MOG material, my recomendation would be to skip it. Of course, for me, the most disappointing thing of all is that there was very very little info about how he pursued his knowledge of the golf swing. I sped through it in one sitting and tossed it in the garbage.

I have been meaning to read that book. Not for a physics reason but merely the way he is in an almost philosophical sense. I've also read the MOG book in one sitting too and I looked past the rawness of it and saw the axe to grind side too. There are a few bits that opened my eyes though. I believe chapter 23ish where he mentions MOG was putting a book together and a video he was selling to other pros for $250 and I wondered if this was the DAROM book and the 1986 Range video or if anyone can shed light on what it was?
I mentioned in a post on here about the MOG three elbow positions with P1 being stated as elbow position #2 for the right elbow with it facing 45 degrees to the target. I wish I knew what 1,2 and 3 were and believe they are renamed pitch, push and punch combinations from TGM but like Richie said that MOG has around 200 pressure points he's identified so yeah, different breed.

It could be that i had a copy of the 1986 video. I had a bunch of stuff. In one section he is wearing "I think" white shorts and a white tee-shirt and is going through all the P's and then talking about the different torso tilts. Torso Tilt 2 was face-on and is what is now considered second axis tilt. Torso tilt 2 was established from P4 to P6. From P6 you stayed in that tilt and centrifugal force took the club from P6 to P8 and handeled the uncocking of the club. At P8 you would re-cock the wrists.

Just a note, George Hunt is *not* what some may call 'M.O.R.A.D. certified.'
Mac does not certify anybody under M.O.R.A.D.
George did not have a Web site at the time he started to going to various Mac schools and Mac wanted him to get a Web site and put the M.O.R.A.D. logo on the site and specifically name it moradgolfgeorgehunt.com
So anybody looking to be 'certified' is going to be disappointed.
