July 5, 2014 - The Deltona Club - Tee II 83 (+11) Really happy to have held it to this number, the short game is really messy right now. Hit 9 greens and shot 11 over, not good. I'll go poke around on the short game boards for tips - what are your favorite drills for getting up and down? Details: www.golfnerdshow.com/?p=254

I think one of the biggest factor is just practicing short game more (not knowing how much you do so now). You have to factor in relative strengths, but spending 50% of your practice time on short shots (pitching, chipping, sand) and putting is not unreasonable. I know I can get in the habit of just going to the range so split ends up being more like 90/10 and that doesn't cut it.
After that, I think the best approach is varied practice (not taking the same shot more than 2 or 3 times in a row) plus some sort of tracking, like keeping track of how many short shots end up within 5' of the hole and trying to beat it each session.
