I'm down for a golf getaway in Florida (north of Tampa) and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for people to do an Edel wedge fitting. Looking for someone in the Orlando to Tampa region, but I'll drive a bit for a proper fitting. I checked the web site, and they have Club Champion in Orlando listed, as well as a regional fitter. Anyone used either? Other options?
Also, anyone have an idea of the build times on a custom wedge order? I'm only down for another 2-4 weeks, and getting something shipped back to Canada would likely add on extra hassel, taxes and duties.
Thanks!

I've heard nothing but good info about Club Champion.
Across the street from Club Champion is also the PGA Tour Superstore. They have Edel Wedges available for sale right there. You won't get the full customization (i.e. stampings, shafts, length of shaft, etc). I believe their Edel wedges have KBS wedge shafts in them. So if you really want one without paying for the shipping, you can always grab what you need at the Tour Superstore after going to Club Champion (I don't believe the Tour Superstore actually fits for Edel equipment).
The normal turnaround time I believe is about 4 weeks from Edel.

Thanks! I called Club Champion and they do wedge fittings, but it's indoors off of a Trackman. I'd prefer to do it some place with actual grass (and a bunker) since I think my angle of attack varies a bunch on short/finesse shots. I'll try a few other sources, or perhaps just pick up a new wedge with lots of bounce and a heel grind if I can't find an Edel fitter with grass facilities. Or perhaps I just really need a short game lesson. Anyway - many thanks for the info!

I tried out the Fourteen Golf 52 degree wedge and it just doesn't compare to my Edel 52 degree wedge. If I had a wish, it would be the Edel made from a soft, forged carbon steel rather than the stainless. The Fourteen wedge is nice and soft, but the grind just isn't nearly as good as the Edel grinds. I really love my 60 degree Edel It has the 'ice cream scoop' grind that works wonderfully. My only issue with the Edel wedges has been the head weights. Their 56 degree heads are usually at 307 grams which is extremely heavy (typical 56 degree heads are usually in the 300-302 gram range). They also put a KBS C-Taper in my original wedge and I didn't like that at all. My 60 degree wedge was only at 309 grams which is fine. I removed the C-Taper and installed a Nippon WV125 and it works well. I will install the new Nippon Modus 125 wedge shafts in that as they generate a lot more spin. Eventually I got Edel to make me a 52 degree that I use as my Sand Wedge and they made it to 295 grams of head weight. I've had it for about a year and I have been quite pleased with it. I think one can get fitted for Edel indoors on Trackman. The problem I would have is the cost for the fitting. If you're paying for the fitting, then I would want it outdoors. But if the fitting was free along with the purchase of an Edel wedge, then I would have no issue with doing it indoors. You could probably go next door to the PGA Tour superstore and try some of the Edel wedges out. 3JACK
