I found this questionaire over at Golf WRX...I never post there other than an occasional blurb in the classic club section, so here goes.
I try to have this as my usual routine, depending on time and weather of course...
1. What's your handicap or average score?
15 to 18? I will estabish an official one after the first of the year
2. How often do you play a round of golf?
three 9's a week right now
3. How often do you hit balls?
6 days a week
4. How many balls do you hit when you do hit balls?
+/- 150 balls somewhat regimented, but depends on the day.
I start off with 16 to 20 simple motion PW's; then 2 balls with each club, going from LW to Driver. After that, I hit about 30-50 balls using my 6 iron, working on whatever I am thinking about that day. Then about 12 more drivers...then 12 more 3/4 swings with each wedge...about 10 minutes of chipping after that
5. How long do you typically hit balls?
2 to 3 hours
6. How often do you practice putting? For how long?
10 minutes a day/3 times a week
7. How often do you practice your short game? For how long?
everyday---see above
8. Do you keep statistics of your rounds of golf? If so, what kind?
I rarely even keep score
9. Do you take notes during your lessons? After your lessons? Do you keep a notebook?
I always take notes afterwards
10. What club do you start your range session with? What club do you end it with?
PW---to LW up to Driver and back to LW
11. Do you keep track of where the ball lands when you hit balls?
Always
12. Do you use practice drills of any kind?
No
13. Do you use practice games of any kind?
2 ball-worst ball is kinda fun, but that's about it
14. Do you practice at home? If so, how?
I am starting some slow-motion drills...and some of the hammer drill stuff too
15. Do you ever have a plan before you start a practice session?
Yes, but everyday is different, so my ideas change quickly as to what I might work on
Other stuff---I try to take a practice swing on the range at least every other swing...I sit down and have a sip...clean clubs or whatever every 8 balls, as this forces me to not just hit blindly. I try to think about what I am doing...hit at different targets etc...I also take a lesson every 6 weeks or so. I have my "regular" guy who I love, but I like to hear different things from different people, so I will try an online lesson, or a clinic with iteach (Dan), things like that. I read a lot as well...sometimes there might be an idea that just stands out, and it makes sense to go try it!
It's a helluva journey!!
