I decided that I felt confident enough in my swing changes to have a driver session, for me that is about 20 swings. I just can't hit more than that with a driver without getting worn out and then the quality of the work is not as high.
Last night I was at PGA SS and using their simulators. I know they are not close to Trackman but I ave them figured out pretty good.
Here were my driver averages on some of the numbers
Club speed 102 Ball Speed 151 (thats some solid contact!) Launch 7 degrees Spin - 4100 (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkk!!!) Carry 245 Final - 260
I asked the guy in the store and he took me to what he felt was the truest monitor they had and it was a little better on the spin, like 3600 and finals were close to 270 but it looks to me like that is an awfully low launch and way to much spin. It did not seem to matter a whole lot where I placed the ball the numbers did not change. The good news is they were extremely straight shots, I could swing as hard as I wanted and the ball never curved left!
I am thinking I will groove my swing in the next couple months but I might have to tweak the driver equipment. I can do a outdoor Trackman fitting for $200 for all my woods.

I was told that the spin rates at PGA Tour Super store are wayy too high. I heard it's realy about 80% of the spin. So at 4100, you probably had about 3300 rpms in reality. The next driver I get, unless it's something used and really cheap (under $100), I will go get a Trackman fitting first. I think for drivers, Trackman fitting is a must because it gives you such a good idea of exactly what you need and thus you can use one for a good 3-5 years without feeling the need to switch.

I did continue to try and move it up and tee it higher to get the right launch. My confidence in that move grew as the round went on. On 16 they had the tee back, usually I hit an hybrid as its very tight but today it was back at almost 400 yards so I used a driver. I caught it what felt was so so but it was a little above center on the face and flight was much higher than normal. I got out there and it was about 275 in distance so I bet that shot would have been really good on Trackman.
