It took me a while to figure out the exact '2013-2014 season' and what it exactly entailed. I'm curious as to how the Tour will treat this on their stats section. I did project that #125 on the Money List for 2013 would be at $622K for the year. I was only $12k off.
In the meantime, I wanted to start a few things on 'players to watch' whether you just enjoy watching the Tour or you are in a fantasy league.
Harman was an average driver of the ball, but one of the most aggressive drivers of the ball on Tour. That hurt his driving effectiveness a little, but it actually helps the odds for his overall game since he was pretty good in impeded shot % and Average distance to the edge of the fairway. He was pretty good with his Short Game and Putting as well.
What gave him troubles was his iron play, particularly from the fairway.
So the aggressive strategy off the tee was the 'right move.' Unfortunately, he couldn't execute when he found the fairway. He had a good showing at Reno (t-11th) and a good showing at the Wyndham Championship (t-3rd).
If he can get his iron play going, this is a player that has all of the metrics to suggest a pretty big year.
If he can't, he should do better in 2014 than he did in 2013...but not by a whole lot.
He is currently at 100/1 odds to win at CordeValle this week.
