Here's a 'shootout' that GolfWRX did using the stock 7-iron configuration.

The only thing is that these are not really 'blades.' There's quite a few cavity back models in there, but I find the data interesting nonetheless.
My opinion is always subject to change, but here are some of the thoughts I have come away from:
Ideally, it's best to look at ball speed when comparing similar designs. I used to think smash factor, but you can get some possible errors from Trackman reading the club speed which can alter the smash factor. However, Trackman is pretty accurate when it comes to iron club speeds.
So, assuming the club speeds were the same, I would look at ball speed instead.
As we can see, the top club speeds belonged to more traditional blade heads:
But, the ball speed data is much more accurate and here are the top ball speeds:
I don't think the landing data tells us much because there isn't much deviation going on there.
I'd be more interested in launch and spin:
One of the things I would like to do next year is to examine more closely the CoG of club heads. I tend to think that drivers and irons work differently. A low CoG driver head is likely to cause less spin and a lower CoG iron head is likely to cause more spin. Or at least that's what I think. Either way, it comes mostly down to finding the right club for your swing.
