I just started coaching for the first time at the high school where I teach. The high school is big but the girls golf program is very small.
Any former or current high school players or coaches out there with any thoughts for me?
I'll have to hold back discussing the D-plane and left arm flying wedge because we probably need to work more on hitting the ball forwards first. =)

I think at that level you're just better off with some basics and REALLY pushing demeanor, character, honesty, teamwork, rules, etc...
just my .02.
Good Luck!!!

Ettiquette and the rules come first. I would then work on the grip and teach them what a compressed golf ball looks like...there's plenty of YouTube videos that will show this. I would then go...chipping...pitch shot....full swing and try to get them to compress the ball. And always teach:
1) Team togetherness 2) Having fun

It's more about letting them have fun and learn how to act on a golf course and in life. If you are not qualified to help out with golf swing advice, I would try to partner up with a good local pro. Many would be more than willing to offer a deal or help out on occasion.
