Hi Richie, I wanted to ask you since you mentioned you have experience in betting. I'm thinking of betting just for fun, not professionally, on an NFL game here and there to add to the agony and ecstasy of the outcome, hehehe. I was thinking of Bodog, since they have a reputable name. Can I load an account using paypal or a Visa credit card? Also, I've heard that in some (all?) betting sites, you can't just withdraw your money. You have to win or bet a certain number of times. Would you know how that works? Also, finally, how do I get paid if I win and cash-out? Will the amount be loaded onto my paypal or Visa, or will I get a check? I'd rather the former, so it's all electronic. Anyway, no rush to answer if you know the answers. If you don't, that's cool too. Thanks.

I've only done gambling a few times as most gambling I've done is thru a bookie I knew in Myrtle Beach. When I've done it online I think I did it on USbet.com. I used my cc and could withdraw my winnings at any time. When you lose, you have the money taken out of your cc account or paypal account.
One thing to remember, they take out the vig as well. When you lose, you not only lose the money you bet on, but you lose the 'vig' as well, which is an additional 10%. So if you bet $100. If you win, you get $100. But if you lose, you lose $110. Lots of people don't know that.
I'd also suggest betting on the 'money line.'
This is where you pick the team to win outright, instead of using the spread. It's almost always a situation where the better takes the bet on the team that is the underdog. What they do is give you odds.
So let's say Indianapolis is a 9 point favorite over Detroit. In a money line bet, you would take Detroit to win outright. The bigger the spread, the more money you will win becaue the odds are greater.
So let's say you take Detroit and put $50 down, if the Lions win outright, then you would win something like $450. And if you lose, you just lose $50.
Or if the spread is 5 points, if you put $50 on and win, then your win is less, say $250
Very good way to bet on the occasional game, not lose a lot, but make some really good money.
I think most other bets, outside of the spread are sure money losers. I think the over/under is a bookies dream.

Hey, thanks for all the info, man, specially about the money line. That sounds like a good idea, plus I can get in and out ... no long term commitments about having to maintain an account; didn't know anything about the "vig". Thanks again, I'll try and do some research on some sites.
