Different amounts of shaft lean for different swings and different shots. If I'm looking to hit a very high fade, I'm not going to have a lot of shaft lean. And you can cheat impact, so you can cheat 'V Factor.'

What handicap range would this guy fall into? To be fair Moe is a bit older in this video and not making a big swing for this shot. But I see your point. My theory is far from fail-safe. As for faking V factor, I cannot do it on a full swing successfully. Half swings yes, but not a full swing with a long iron. Certainly different shots will have different factors, but by in large when I watch pro swings and amateur swings the V-factor differential is there.

I bought the swing extender a recently to avoid overfolding the right arm. It is a nice aid. I need to get to place where I can make swings without it.

mchepp, What is the selling points for the swing extender? How does it help you? Rand www.swingextender.com/app2/It prevents the right arm from folding past 90 degrees. As for the rest of the benefits I have attached the website above.

I haven't posted my swing in a while, mainly because I have been working on my release so I have not taken many full swings on the range. I am getting pretty close, and now I need to integrate it into my full swing.

Your P6 looks great with these mini-swings. Great job. Hopefully it will integrate fully into your swing... keep us posted.

Looks good on the mini swings, the problem gets to be what gets into the way of you making that same release when you make the full swing, at least thats what happens to my swing.

I find that my problem lies somewhere in the transition. Very often by P5 I have already lost the ability to release the club in this fashion with the full swing. That is the big challenge, but first I just wanted to prove to myself that I could properly release the club as I wanted too.

So I went to trackman this week with the idea that I needed a new driver. I felt my current driver was not optimal for me. I had been working on my set-up thinking I was hitting up on the ball now.
I was SO wrong that I could not believe it. My angle of attack was -4. I then spent the rest of the session trying to hit up on it. It is very hard for me to believe what a difference hitting up really means. This was a major shock for me. I left getting to 0, but I still have work to do to try to get where I would like to be which is +1 or +2. The distance in carry was about 15-20 yards when I properly hit up on it.
I will be spending some time working on teeing it up higher and hitting up on it before going back and trying to fine tune it.
Big learning experience for me.

It has been a long time since I posted my swing here mainly because I have been working on it trying to implement a few things. I am starting to hit the ball really well. I am averaging about 2 GIR more a round now.

I have been working with Mike McNary ( www.mcnarygolf.com ) for the past few months. He has open my eyes to a number of things that have helped me a great deal. He is really an excellent teacher. I still have some ways to go, but the progress has been very steady.
