I've had none and feel cheated. Just curious how others have fared this year.
I'm skeptical of Ray Floyd's claim that he chipped in once every four rounds (I think he said that in his short game book and yes I'm jealous if that's true).

He would chip a 10' shot with a flat green and the ball sitting 1" onto the fringe, using a flat faced club with his putting stroke.......he was very good at it but dont be confused with a pitch that goes in and a chip. Same thing for Phil. I say true hole outs with pitches or from bunkers I have made maybe 5 or so in 30 rounds. I holed out for eagle from 125 this year.

I define a "chip in" as: (i) a shot 1-20 yards off the green or "fringe" (which does exist even though the USGA doesn't believe so) that is holed by using a club other than a putter, or (ii) a shot holed out of a bunker.
Good playing with 5 holed bunker shots!

I think I've chipped in about 3 times this calendar year, and I've played about 30 rounds of golf.

I've probably had 8 or so. Had one on Sunday. It was more or a pitch or a lob, but it went in....for par The rule of 12 has made this easier for me 3JACK

Floyd was an amazing chipper. Watch him in the '90 Masters if it ever comes up on replay. He basically should've won and should've won solely because his chipping was sadistically phenomenal.

I have not had as many this year as normal also. Normally I would have 4-5 by now, but I can only think of 1 or 2.
My friend in a round last week chipped in 3 times. I was very jealous.

I had about 3 this summer. Rather frustratingly I had 2 against me on the front 9 in the semi-final of my club's scratch matchplay. Its incredibly deflating when you think you've got the hole won.

Thinking back over the round he actually had all 3 on the front nine. He then started to think about shooting his age and promptly made double on 17.

Well, part of making 3 chips in a round is that you have to miss a lot of greens Last year I had 2 chip ins in a round. I've never been that great at chipping just off the green. Usually better from a further distance out. Now with the Rule of 12, my chipping just off the green is far better. I think the Rule of 12 beats the 'just chip with the SW every time' by a mile. 3JACK

probably 40 or so on the course, but I do a lot of playing lessons and practice rounds where I hit chips from all over with players. In the short game challenge I used to do in SD I'd chip in at least one ball every other time I went through it (so 1 of 32) but it easier when you hit the same chip multiple times.

I am the king of the lip out...
My friends tell me I have "liprosy".
I have one hole out on the whole year from outside of short rolling chip range, I probably have about 25 or so that lipped or rattled the flag. The one hole out was from 195 yards downwind with a 5 iron for an eagle net 1 on the number 1 handicap hole 446 yard par 4.
