Took these on Saturday. The light was a little uncooperative and I was standing way too far from the camera but I'm still getting the camera setup thing down. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQi5lNXcmYswww.youtube.com/watch?v=6338elc2F-Ewww.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gchi60hso0www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpWP94wfE8wI really don't like how steep I am in transition and am still super flippy, especially with the irons. I hit a lot of thins out there with the irons the other day and it was a pretty poor session in general, but it was the coldest, windiest day we've had here so far this season. Most of the time I take pork chops but I guess the steepness and flip are gonna lead to both ends of the spectrum. Anyway, I am going to work on trying to get more shallow in transition as well as figure out a way to keep the club from going so far to the inside so early in the takeaway. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I think most of the issues take place in the backswing. You take the club well inside and then a very long backswing and then you get across the line.
You come OTT in large part because your right arm is too bent on the backswing. Instead of the right arm being bent at 90* angle. it's bent more at like a 45* angle.
So what happens on the downswing is as you naturally try to straighten out that right arm...you can't because you over-bent it in the backswing.
I would work on that the most, shortening the backswing bye keeping your right arm bent at a 90* angle. One thing you may want to *feel* is that you stop *feel like* you are stopping your backswing when the right thumb starts to point directly towards the sky. Or you may want to feel like you are taking a 1/2 swing. Tape yourself when you do this and you'll probably still take it too far back, but it will get better.

Good thoughts Rich. I've never noticed the right arm bend before. It does feel a bit awkward keeping it bent at 90*, but it also looks a little more like a model backswing looking at it in the mirror.

I could be a complete whacko . . . . but that face is SHUT . . . like your body and hands and subconscious are trying to help you get "loft" or "under the face" . . . you can see your left wrist start to bend early in the d.s. to "unshut" it. I agree with richie . . . arms swing seems way to long. Your hand path looks good to me until about right shoulder high and then it all falls apart. I think you hit the checks nice and then it comes unglued . . . your right elbow over flexes and you actually turn them bones in your right forearm counter clockwise and it shoots the club across the line. To me . . . seems like you need to feel like you take the club about waist high and you probably have a great looking top of b.s. . . . but that clubface is causing you issues. Do you have the face looking shut on the ground at address? May want to try "lagging clubhead take away" . . . feel like you take your hands in and leave the clubhead behind and outside your hands . . . should put some cup in your left wrist rather than archy.

I don't think he's so much shut as he is 'across the line' with a pretty long backswing and that makes it look shut.
Neckbone, you're in good company...I've got the same exact problems. Takes a lot of practice. I try to feel like I'm only taking 1/2 swings, but when I watch on video I'll catch myself getting too long again.
A long swing isn't necessarily wrong (or right), but if you get off plane and then get above plane with a very bent right arm on the downswing, then that's why I recommended you work on that.
