So this past week they have been running a bunch of older Shell matches on TGC, mostly mid to late 90's and I am watching Chi Chi verus Lee Trevino in 1995 and Lee hit his ball in some thick ass bermunda. Now anyone that knows bermunda knows it can nestle down but still be sitting on more spongy stuff below and when Lee address the ball it clearly moves. It does not rotate at all but his pressing the club down to check his lie made the ball move around a bit.
Should that be a penalty?

The test according to definition isn't whether the ball moves, but whether or not it changes position. =============================== Move or MovedA ball is deemed to have "moved" if it leaves its position and comes to rest in any other place. =============================== This would include the ball falling lower into the grass if it remains in it's new position. If the ball just oscillates, moving back to it's original position, no penalty. Kevin
