Man this sucks. Been having some lower back issues as of late. Didn't think much of it as I have a degenerative disk issue along with some lingering problems from having broken my lower vertebra's about a decade ago. While working out on Saturday I didn't feel a pop or anything, just knew something wasn't right. Turns out to be at least a herniated disk and next weeks MRI is going to look for some other damage that my DR thinks might be there. So I here I sit on couch. Super bummed. The weather is perfect out, almost 80 today. All pumped on golf after going out to Matchplay last week. The guy from PURE is sending me some new grips to check out, lot's of stuff for me to be working on at the range before it gets too hot here, and now I am grabbing some pine on the bench. I hate getting old.

Sucks, hope it gets better. I had some friends with lower back issues and they got into yoga and never worried about lower back issues again. I'd like to get into yoga if I had the time.
I'm actually considering some Pure Grips right now.

That and just getting OLD. A former life as a brick layer didn't help much either Yoga is in the works. I used to do it and Pilates a lot. Then Kettlebells entered the picutre and i never looked back. OF course this all happend when I was doing none of the above. I will try to go to the "hot yoga" mostly just because I hear they don't wear a lot of clothes in there! Wife can't object to "therapy" can she?

This is really a bummer because you laid all that ground work with the wife about new equipment at the Match Play.

I hate getting old. I feel for you. I have a herniated disc at my L5-S1 level and there isn't anything that can be done without causing more damage. I'm staying away from surgery until I can't get out of bed. This crap sucks and I have to take a cart everytime I play to avoid pain and exhaustion. Dealing with the pain depletes ones energy level and it does suck. If anyone knows of disc regeneration (I'm hoping we have this within 10 years) please post. I want the problem fixed instead of delayed. Fortunately I don't have nerve impingement, but my spine is falling down upon itself and I still have pain/discomfort.

I hear you. I feel better now, not great, but better. My wife was walking out the door today (I work out of home office) and the last thing she says is "NO GOLF this week, just because you feel better doesn't mean you get to F**K it up again". She knows me too well. I was already planning on going to chip and putt for awhile. Going to wait another week before I try to do anything.
