How many have ditched their hybrid and use their 3 or 4 iron?
I was working on the pull fade with my 4 iron today and actually had it working well (I'll pass final judgment when tested under tournament conditions). My hybrid was ballooning with my pull fade. I like a low ballflight.
I'm probably going to keep the 4 iron, ditch the hybrid and have a 5 wood for bad conditions.

I have a 3I and a 17 degree hybrid to replace the 2I/5W.

I have a 3I and a 17 degree hybrid to replace the 2I/5W. I wouldn't dream of putting a 3 iron in the bag.

I just bought a 3i to finish my MP14 set. Now my make up is Driver, 15* 3 wood, 18* 4 wood, 3i, 4i, etc... I hit the long irons much more consistent than any/every hybrid I've tried.
I haven't received the 4 wood yet, just ordered it. If I hit it like I hit my 3 wood I'll keep it. If not, I'm looking at grabbing a 2 iron, but probably not an MP14 2 iron. Something with a cavity probably.

Cloran -
What was your miss with the hybrid? Balloon shot?

Depending on the model I tried: hooks or balloon fades.
My favorite hybrid I ever hit was the Adams Peanut V1, but I sold the ones I had and I find I'm more consistent with irons. Maybe it's because the shafts are more consistent for my swing through the 3i? Don't know.
Distance isn't my primary concern with the long irons, just consistency... I'm definitely more consistent directionally with the irons. At least with the current incarnation of my swing.

I'm hitting way too many balloon fades to be consistent with this club. It's a great club if the ball is in narly rough, but overall, I'm going to stick with the 4 iron and let my 5W take care of nasty lies.

I've got a 17* Mizuno MX 700 2-hybrid that bridges that gap nicely between my 15* 3-wood and my 3-iron. I've considered going to a dual hybrid bag, but as it is my only hybrid is also sort of my all-purpose rescue and lay-up club, and I don't hit my 3 iron poorly enough that I would need to replace it.

I took my "new" 3 iron to the range tonight for the first time. Loved it. Stock shot was a fade with a medium height trajectory that just went forever. I can see this as being a great fairway finder off the tee. I was hitting it off a mat and had no problem hitting high pull fades or even a small push draw.
I'm sold. I'm still waiting for my 4 wood to come in, and if it works out then the bag will be set.
