As it says, 'The List'. For the UK anyway. www.todaysgolfer.co.uk/upload/37984/attachments/top-100-golf-courses.pdfStill a very high proportion of links courses high up. Loch Lomond is the highest 'new' course and still not sure how this makes it so high up these lists. It is a great course, don't get me wrong, and the scenery is breathtaking. This is probably worth a couple of places, but when courses like Troon, Ganton and the King's at Gleneagles aren't in the top twenty, not sure how this could justify a top ten rating. As it asks 'How many have you played?', 38, Irish courses massively under-represented. I think the Castle Course (new entry) is where the Scottish Open is being played this year. Looks incredible and very much looking forward to seeing this course. The second hundred list is fun too and worth clicking on for the picture of Trevose alone. www.todaysgolfer.co.uk/upload/37984/attachments/the-other-100-golf-courses.pdfThere are a lot of courses here you could play for 40 quid instead of dropping the business end of a grand to stay in the posh hotel at Turnberry to beg and scrape your way on to the course (something I still intend to do at some stage ). You could pick half a dozen of the Scottish courses from this list and have yourself an incredible tour without fighting for a single tee time. They are not all going to be big 7,000 yard tracks, but some great old school links tracks here.

Lucky sod! ;D
Great course. Brutal when the wind is up. Which it always has been whenever I have played there.
I have never thought about it, but if I were to pick my top ten favourite par threes, three of them would probably be from Rye.
And you've got Littlestone just down the road eh? Great golfing country.

I'm embrassed to see how few on that list I've played. But, FWIW, of those I have, Woodhall Spa is comfortably my favourite. I thought Hoylake was massively overrated, and I'm afraid I didn't think Alwoodley was anything special.

Forgot to add: I've also played the Castle Course. It's impressive, and very hard, although not a 'pure' links and it feels like they've had to cram it all in a bit.
