What loft is more normal?
I have a 4 on my Anser and love it for less than 9 on the stimp. I'm thinking 2-2.5 might be normal for faster greens.

There's a lot of factors. David Orr's studies say that most golfers tend to have too much loft on their putters because they add loft at impact. So it depends on if you add loft or de-loft the putter at impact.
But generally...faster greens = better using a less loft. Slower greens = better using more loft.
However, if you get a putter with less loft or bend it so it has less loft, it may change your aim (probably more to the right). Add loft...more likely to change the aim towards the left.
Growing up in NY, the best I ever putted up there was with an old 8802 putter, which has 2* of loft. Works well with slick, bent grass greens.
I'd say 'normal' loft is 3*. If you don't want to change the loft, you could add weight to the putter on faster greens since heavier putters work better on faster greens.
