I'd like to welcome Brian Manzella to the forum. I've referenced countless thoughts, posts, pictures, videos, etc. of Brian on my blog and here on the forum.
Here's Brian's bio from his Web site
When Brian Manzella was a 20 year-old assistant to 71 year-old New Orleans City Park Head Pro Henry Thomas in 1982, Thomas brought Brian along to video students at his booth at a downtown convention. Left alone for a lunch break, Manzella began helping golfers who stopped by. When Thomas and first assistant Larry Griffin returned, a crowd had formed to watch the animated young man, hanging on his every word. From that moment on, Brian Manzella's teaching has always attracted a crowd. And the crowd is growing everyday.
Manzella brings unmatched knowledge and colorful communication into the golf instruction arena. His goal has never faded—to become the very best instructor in the game—and as the mainstream golfing media is soon to discover, there can be no substitute for hard work, dedication, experience, and knowledge.
A 19-year PGA Member and Authorized instructor of The Golfing Machine, Brian always had a knack for finding solutions to the most difficult golfing problems. Since that chance beginning at the National Real Estate convention 26 years ago, Brian has left no stone unturned, no question unanswered in his quest to become the face of modern golf instruction. In 1987 he began a long tutelage under world-renown instructor Ben Doyle, and in 2003, the PGAís Kentucky Section named Brian PGA Teacher of the Year. He also received a Golf Stroke Engineer Doctorate (G.S.E.D.) from The Golfing Machine, LLC in 2003 given his expertise in the field.
Brian has taught students of all levels. From past and present PGA Tour players including extensive work with David Toms, to players on all the major tours, accomplished amateur players, collegiate golfers, and highly ranked junior golfers as well. His Manzella Golf Academy has given schools throughout the USA and Brian calls both Louisville, Kentucky and New Orleans, Louisiana home to his private instruction practice.
Manzellaís efforts to revolutionize golf instruction can be seen in his growth of fellow teaching professionals. The list includes PGA professionals Mike Finney, Chris Hamburger, Michael Jacobs, Damon Lucas, Authorized Golfing Machine Instructor Tom Bartlett, and many others.
However, Brian takes comfort in knowing that the legacy of his work will be found in helping golfers of all levelsóincluding beginners. Because of his natural ability to communicate clear concepts with simple explanations, Brianís instructional videos and articles dominate the competition in helping golfers of all levels.
In January of 2003, troubled by the poor level of instruction within the booming online golf communities, Brian opened the doors to the Manzella Golf Forum. Today the forum is home to nearly 10,000 users, the #1 site on the web run by an instructor. His members include several "Top 100" Teaching Professionals, accomplished players, beginner golfers, and others who have all sought after a piece of the golfing puzzle and found it in the 46 year-old resident of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Brian teaches mostly out of English Turn in New Orleans, but also makes stops in Louisville, KY. Brian also has a busy schedule of 'tour stops' where he goes to certain cities across the nation and gives lessons in those cities.
