Here is my older one's junior swing. She has always been a straight shooter. Very rarely does she need to hit out of rough (perhaps that is why her rough shots are not that good but i digress)
Recently, there have been some shots with a little curve to the left side. She does not like it because it makes things more unpredictable.
Is there something in her swings (shot in the basement today, 6 irons and driver) that can explain this ?draw or hook tendency at times?
(sorry the lighting is not that good, thus the pics are fuzzy)
Thanks.

start right and curve back to target line? Or start left and go left?
Is it excessive or just a light draw? All the time?
The swing looks very good to me. Based on your answers to the above questions we may be able to help a little bit more.
What are the chances it is an equipment issue? What type of shaft's is she playing? When I play shafts too soft more me I often end up having too much right to left curvature.

Good questions, rohlio, not sure if i have the most reliable answers.
Problem is that it is not like she has developed a new pattern but it comes out once in a while. It is frustrating to her because she is not a long hitter, so with her approach shots into the greens, she wants to place the ball wherever she aims at...
It is not extreme left, or duck hook. it goes high and tails off to the left. so a "good looking" shot will look like it is going straight for the most part and then just before it lands, it curves a little to the left and after it lands, it rolls to the left.
The question on the equipment is interesting. She is using senior shaft. Her swing speed with irons i would think is in the low 80s. perhaps 150 for 5 irons?
Because i watch her swings all the time, i feel that i might have become desensitized or overlooked some small things or bad habits that have crept up.
does it mean fundamentally, it is a club face issue?

Based on the flight path you described; and considering she used to play a dead-straight ball, you can see what's happening at impact. She's hitting the ball with a little more in-to-out path than she's used to.
The "why" is a little more difficult for my amateur eyes.
Could it be that her swing has become a bit more dynamic and her speed has increased a bit? Did she have a recent growth spurt? I know that if I hit a senior/ladies shaft I tend to hook the ball, too much speed and too soft of a flex.

Golfdad,
She's seeing straight draws because she's getting a hair steep from P5 (left arm parallel on the downswing) down into release. What comes with that generally is for the sweetspot to effectively be a little closed on the arc. The result is a straight draw because of the face being square to closed on the arc launches it straight, but with more upright plane angles comes more down which means more right.
Two suggestions on what she could do:
1. Simply have her slow down the pivot a little and let the arms shift down the plane a little bit more, that will get the ball started a hair more right.
2. If she wants to use a pivot that fast, she needs to feel her hand path be a bit more in to supply some room for the left arm to shift out.
If you had a face on that would help because I'm interested in seeing how she sets up on the arc with the face, ball position, and handle and also make sure she's letting the club overtake because if not that also is going to add some effective "right" in the path.

Thank you claran and hmsmai for giving more ideas and thoughts. After her finals, I would try to catch her outside to do a front and down the line Meanwhile, I will relay your suggestions for her to think about,,,thanks!

Before you do anything, you have to check impact location. If she is hitting many many straight shots and then a draw, the first thing I would check is where is she hitting it on the clubface.
Check both iron and driver. You can use a dry erase marker or something else that rubs off but for really good players, impact location must be determined before adjustments can be offered.

Was able to sneak into the golf course for couple holes with her this afternoon after 2 finals today (2 more tomorrow and one next week!). Dropped bunch of balls and she just hit them and I taped them. Seems okay (tough for me to look very closely since I was taping). The only one shot that I saw for sure curved to the left is the one at 2:34. i am not sure if that is a closed faced shot or a right to left shot,,, www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8Ds2vk-iFE
