The July issue of Golf Digest has some old tips from Seve. Never saw this one before.
1. Only hit it out of the water if there is at least 1/4 of the ball that is above the water.
2. Use a PW instead of a LW or a SW.
3. Treat it like a bunker shot
4. Avoid the tendency to want to pick your head up.

Here's how I play a ball that ends up in the water.
1. From dry land, stand over the ball. 2. Reach into the side pocket of golf bag. 3. Retrieve new ball and drop according to rules of golf.
I have a deep seeded hate for lost golf balls. Even if I can reach a ball that has gone in the water I won't touch it... it's cursed. When I'm hiking through the woods looking for my ball and come across 10 others I don't dare disturb their slumber. They are in the woods for a reason and I leave them be. I never understood the desire to grab a previously lost neon yellow XL2000 and bring it home with me... blah!

I think Seve didn't play in Florida much. We have to worry about gators down here.
