Well, I had never heard of this guy until I was blasting through a golf magazine. Was bored and went to his web site. You guessed it, I bought the stuff. My putting stinks so I buy anything that looks interesting. He has you hold the putter straight out in front of you and then bend your elbows until they touch your sides----keep the elbows there and bend forward until the putter soles on the ground. Your forearms and putter should be in a straight line. Then you use your core muscles to turn the shoulders and, thus, move the putter. This will cause a path that follows an arc. He wants the butt of the club to point at your belly button throughout the stroke. I tried it last week and had trouble with speed control until I got used to it. Will be using it again this weekend. The toe of the putter should be overtaking the heel at impact.

Have been putting with this method since my last post---seems to be working well. Have used it with face-balanced putters and my Ping Anser 4 .

His stuff in the August GOLF magazine was very good, although I'm not so sure that it's much different from Mangum's 'Reality of Putting' DVD. I think one of Mangum's weaknesses is that when he tries to explain things in layman's terms it can often get more confusing. For instnace, in the DVD he talks about 'hansel and gretal' with the stroke and I had no idea what he was talking about. Later on I understood what he was trying to convey, but still not sure how hansel and gretal applies to it. In part, because I cannot remember the story.

I bought the DVD and give it 4 stars out of 5. This DVD is different then Mangum's. Marius is very clear with his philosophy and explanations. I learned a couple things and it was worth the money.
