How do the pros generally "release" their wedges through impact for a wedge shot at 100 yards?
It seems like when I add a bunch of wrist cock to hit my 56* wedge 100 (maximum distance) that bad things happen (skull shots, fat shots, etc.) just as much as good shots.
What about for a 50 yard shot with their 60*? Full release? Half release? No release?
I'm thinking of trying to lessen my wrist cock and use my 52* wedge for this shot. Frustrated wedge player right now. The soft-bent fairways are driving me nuts. I like to play the ball back and hit down hard on rye grass with clay based fairways (typical for PA).

If I need more spin, it's more emulating my full swing. I'm trying to compress the ball more to get it to spin. If I want the ball to run a bit, it's more of a soft, half release.
I hit my 56* about 115 yards and my 60* about 90 yards. However, I really don't like swinging full with the lob wedge because I can't get the distance control down.
On shots 50 yards and in...I *feel* like I go into the downswing with the intention of forward shaft lean, hands ahead, etc. But, as the clubhead starts going down to the ball, I feel like I'm un-bending the right wrist. That gets me the right amount of attack angle without a lot of shaft lean. So I can hit the ball well enough, but not de-loft the club.

un-bending = slight flip?
Does the left arm fold quickly after impact on your 50 yard shot?

un-bending doesn't flip at impact because I still have a FLW at impact. so there is a little shaft lean, but the dynamic loft is enough to get the ball up in the air.
To me, 50 yards in is more about trajectory than anything. I think golfers tend to neglect that.
