Rohlio suggested this shaft puller stores.toolzunlimited.com/Items/lw-shaft-ex?&caSKU=lw-shaft-ex&caTitle=The%20Anywhere%20Puller%20-%20Golf%20Club%20Shaft%20ExtractorI just pulled a couple of graphite shafts with it. It works quite well. I used my hand torch although it recommends a heatgun or a micro-torch. Still, I think I heated the shafts for 1 minute each and started to extract them and they came out great. The only thing is that when you first get the thing, you have to screw the wingnut screws down quite a bit and that takes a little time. Only nitpicking there, though. All you need is the puller and a 7/16th wrench (or a crescent wrench) and some sort of torch or handgun and you're good to go. 3JACK

I have to get (or make) something like this. I've destroyed more graphite shafts than I care to mention by utilizing my barbaric "heat it until it's glowing then twist like a motha" style.
Not good at all.

Too much heat will be more likely to ruin the shaft.
I just heat it now with this thing until I can hear the epoxy starting to crack a little. Takes about 1 minute. The pull the shaft from the head with the puller and then the rest is a little bit of twisting it off.

Do you pull the shaft to get it out? Or unscrew the wingnuts and the shafts gets pulled out by the springs?
Not sure how this device works, but it looks interesting.

It's a little complex, but the directions are easy to follow.
You can't see it from the photos they show, but what you have to remove the screws (not the wingnuts) on the 'top plate.' You stick the club in and the re-screw the top plate in. Heat the hosel for about a minute and then you start unscrewing the wing nuts. The unscrewing of the wing nuts will pull the head off the shaft.
Like I said, the directions are easy to follow.

I saw this as well. Didn't quite trust it. The Toolz Unlimited puller is a well built tool.
That one may work great, but I was a little leery of it.
