Course: Rio Pinar CC
Driver: Adams 9064LS Aldila RIP Gamma Shaft
Ball: Srixon Z-Star
Just got done playing with my dad at Rio Pinar. I only have until the end of the month with the membership. It was really a nice day out that threatened rain, but never did anything. Course is pretty soft because it has poured here the at least once in the last 3 days. In fact, I haven't been able to hit balls in the last 3 days due to the rain.
#1 - Never saw the ball go, but it must have gone okay. Hit a good 3-wood that would've made the green but it found the bunker instead. Hit a LW out of a wet bunker a little long, but I would use that shot further on into the round. 2-putted for par (E)
#2 - Decent driver...high, but straight. Pulled a 7-iron into the bunker. I just hit the same bunker shot that I hit on #1 and knocked it to 3-feet and made par (E)
#3 - Ugly 7-iron, but it was okay. Really a nice pitch with a SW to 3-feet and saved that par as well. (E)
#4 - Push cut driver into the woods. Punched out and almost onto the green. Good pitch to a couple of inches and kicked in for par. (E)
#5 - Good driver down the middle here. Hit an 8-iron decent and hit cleared the bunekr and took a nice kick to about 15 feet and drained the birdie putt (-1)
#6 - Good driver here. Laid up and lobbed on, then 2-putted for par (-1)
#7 - Good hybrid here, but too long and went all the way to the back part of the green, leaving me a 75-footer. First putt had good speed, but it never broke, so I missed by 8-feet. Just missed the 8-footer and 3-jacked for bogey (E)
#8 - Good driver down the left side. Good SW to 15 feet and 2-putted for par (E)
#9 - Hit a hook into the woods. Had to hit this one left handed and actually hit a great shot to the fairway. Hit 9-iron on and 2-putted for bogey (+1)
#10 -Hit a driver well down the right side. Good hybrid out of the rough. Hit a 9-iron on and 2-putted for par (+1)
#11 - Hit it well, but pull draw into the woods. Hit the next shot into the greenside bunker. Hit the same bunker shot I hit on #1 and knocked it to 3-feet and made par (+1)
#12 - Big driver down the middle. I then flushed a 9-iron...in the cup! 14th career eagle where the eagle shot was from 100+ yards. This one was from 148 yards. Landed about 8 inches past and sucked back into the cup (-1)
#13 - Flagged another one, but just short. Chip and a putt for par (-1)
#14 - Good driver down the middle. Ugly 9-iron into the bunker....but....I just hit the same shot I hit on #1 and it went to 3-feet and made par (-1)
#15 - Good driver down the middle followed by a good 7-iron to 15 feet. Hit it a little too hard and made par (-1)
#16 - Decent driver in the left rough. Hit a hybrid down the fairway and a PW onto the green and 2-putted for par (-1)
#17 - Caught a 3-iron high on the face and it went just short. Took out the wrong club to chip with and went shot of the pin and 2-putted for bogey (E)
#18 - Good driver down the middle. Hit a 9-iron to 30-feet. 2-putted for par (E)
THOUGHTS: I was thinking that the left handed shot I hit on #9 was going to be the best shot of the day, but the shot I jarred on #12 certainly topped it. I hit the driver pretty well and did everything pretty well considering I didn't get any warmup and hadn't played in the last 3 days.
