Course: Stoneybrook East
Ball: Srixon Z-Star
Only played 9-holes because I wanted to watch the Cowboys game. Weird weather. Was beautiful when I woke up, about 75 and sunny. Then it turned into yesterday by the time I got to the course, 70, gloomy and breezy.
Like Eastwood, the greens were reading an 8 on the stimp and it was pretty wet out (can't remember it raining lately).
#1 - Good driver down the middle. Punched an 8-iron onto the green. Really read this one and drained a 35 footer for birdie (-1) (putt read: 44 inches right of the cup)
#2 - So-so driver down the middle. Hit a 7-iron at the flag. Had the read, but left it short and made par (-1)
#3 - Hit the C-taper 6-iron and didn't hit it well. Left it short of the green. Chip and a tap in for par (-1)
#4 - Ugly driver left. good hybrid from a tough lie. Skanky 8-iron right of the green. flubbed a shot. Chipped to 5-feet. Missed the putt (+1)
#5 - decent 3-wood off the tee. Nice 7-iron into the wind to 15 feet. Another good read (14 inches right of the cup), but left it a hair short and made par (+1)
#6 - Pushed this one with a 5-iron and missed short and right. Chipped to 5-feet, downhill. Perfect read and made the putt (+1)
#7 - Pushed a driver into the fairway bunker. Hit a 9-iron nicely to 20 feet. Wound up missing a little high and made par (+1)
#8 - Pull-draw driver into the fairway bunker. Hit a 5-iron out of there. Decent 9-iron to 30 feet. Pretty good putt and made par (+1)
#9 - Good driver down the middle. Hit a SW to 15 feet. This putt was straight, which is difficult to convince yourself when you are right on the fall line. But, I trusted it and made the birdie (E)
THOUGHTS: I was working on my alignments so I was slowing down my swing to make them and was going too slow. I did putt pretty well, so I was happy with that. The AimPoint stuff I worked on with David is getting there, now it's just a case of doing it more efficiently and quickly. I did go on the range afterwards and started to figure out some things and was hitting it and swinging it better.
