Decent conditions, playing Windermere off the blues today using mostly my IPT's which are now 5* flat and about a D-5 swingweights:
#1 - Decent drive down the right side of the fairway. Long shot to the green, caught a 3-iron a little fat and almost went into the water. Didn't really have much of a shot and just knocked it on the green. So-so first putt made a nice 3 footer to save bogey (+1)
#2 - Hit an Apex PC 4-iron and hit it awful. Thin and right. Hit a pretty good second shot to the green and had a tough 12 footer. 2-putted (+2)
#3 - Perfect drive down the pipe. Beautiful 3-wood to the front part of the green, 2-putted nicely from 50 feet and made birdie (+1)
#4 - Just in the right rough with a hybrid off the tee. Pushed my IPT 9-iron and missed the green right. Excellent pitch to 5-feet and made the putt. Great save (+1)
#5 - Hit a 7-iron well, but pushed it and then hit what I thought was a nice chip, but got a bad bounce and just missed the par putt (+2)
#6 - Good 3-wood off the tee and then hit a 6-iron well, but wound up on the right edge of the green (still getting used to the flatter lies) and 2-putted for par (+2)
#7 - Hit a good 9-iron to 15 feet, missed the putt (+2)
#8 - Nice draw off the tee with the driver. Hit an 8-iron to 10 feet, made a super slick putt for birdie (+1)
#9 - Nice draw off the tee, hooked a 3-wood and wound up with a bad lie. Caught a LW pitch a little fat and just made the green and almost made that putt for a 3rd birdie in a row (+1)
#10 - Toed a driver a bit, still in good shape. Hit a so-so LW (my SW and LW are too upright) and 2 putted from 25 feet (+1)
#11 - Awesome 3-hyrbrid to 10 feet. Just beautiful little draw from 215 out. Made the 10 footer (E)
#12 - Hit a pretty good drive that flirted with the hazard. Hit a pretty good 8-iron, but wasn't enough club and then drilled a 60 footer that had a double break to it for my second birdie in row (-1)
#13 - Hit a really nice drive but got a bit lucky and just cleared a fairway bunker. One of the best iron shots of the day, rifling an 8-iron right over the flag but a little long. 2 putted from 20 feet. (-1)
#14 - Nice drive with a small draw down the middle. Hooked a 3-wood from a tough lie left of the green. Little too much on the pitch and 2 putted from 20 feet. (-1)
#15 - Hole was playing tough today and when I needed a big drive I made my best driver swing of the day. Then I proceed to hit an awful Apex PC 5-iron which I think the clubs are a little too upright for me. Fortuantely I was okay and made an excellent pitch and tapped in. (-1)
#16 - Solid drive down the right side, hit a pretty good 3-wood from a big sidehill lie to about 30 feet. Big ridge to go over here but still 2 putted nicely. (-1)
#17 - Little too much draw with a 7-iron and missed the green left. Vertical hinged a LW and tapped in for par (-1)
#18 - too much hook with a driver, and went in the left rough. Decided to try the Apex PC 3-iron and rifled it beautifully, arguably my best iron shot of the day, right over the flag. About one club too much and 2-putted for birdie. (-2)
Score: 36-33 = 69 (-2)
FWY: 10/13
GIR: 12/18
Putts: 30
Very good day putting. Started to putt like I did back in colllege. Got off to a rough start, but really started swinging well as I got going.
