Got an invite to go up there via my bosses good buddy who has a winter home on the course. This is the development they used to hold the Tradition at before it moved to Oregon. We play Chiricahua which is the furthest back and up the mountain of the 6 courses. I shot 92 from the second back tees, 141 slope and really windy. Usually its the driver that kills me but I drove it well, and I think you could say my game got worse the shorter the club got, I 4 putted twice. Great course and fair layout. 18th green and clubhouse After hitting a 300 yard drive I had 265 over a wash and downwind, I laid up of course. My only birdie came on this drive able par four, I hit a SW to a few feet.

I missed one that went into a sandy wash that I was able to play, hit it right into a bush and got the penalty anyway. I hate courses that, and especially desert courses, that ask you to hit to spots you can't see. Its bad enough when its forced carry but forced carry that you have no idea where to hit it. Greyhawk Talon is a bit like that from the back tees, I am never sure where to hit it. I generally don't like Desert courses, and maybe its because I drove it so well, but I could play this place and be happy (beyond the whole CC aspect of it).

Well the CC membership is included when you buy a house out there, the guy we played with has a cheaper spread out there at 1.7 million if that gives you an idea. They used to play the Tradition there and they will be playing one of the final senior events there on the Cochise course which is probably the most popular. All of the courses are designed by Nicklaus.
