Very breezy day. Probably a 4-club wind in the face. Course was in very good condition. Had to help my dad with his swing today, which made it hard to focus on my own game
#10 - Good driver down the middle. Punched a 7-iron into the wind onto the green. Pretty good run at the first putt and made the 3-foot comebacker for a par (E)
#11 - Good driver down the middle. Pretty good 3-wood down the left side. Hit a punch 9-iron onto the green. Had the read, but not enough gas. (E)
#12 - Hey, cart girl....don't drive up to me when I'm hitting. Found the woods. Punched out. SW pin-high. Just missed the par putt (+1)
#13 - Good driver down the middle. Hit a SW to 5-feet and made birdie (E)
#14 - Tried to push-draw a 4-iron and over-cooked it and went into the drink. Dropped. put a nice SW to 10 feet, but couldn't make the putt (+2)
#15 - Good driver down the left side. Went for it in 2-shots and found the water. SW to 15 feet, made the par putt (E)
#16 - Decided to go for it and pushed it under the big oak tree. punched out. Chipped on and 2-putted for bogey (+1)
#17 - Flushed a 5-iron at the flag. Had the line, but not enough speed (+1)
#18 - Big wind behind us and I killed one about 335 yards. Thought a PW wouldn't get there as I hit it off the toe, but I had more than enough. Was right at the low anchor, but not enough speed (+1)
#1 - Pretty good driver into the wind and made it over the waste bunker. Hit a perfect pitch that squibbed out of the flagstick and made birdie (E)
#2 - bombed a driver with a tail wind. Got a little under the LW, but the wind just took it and got it to pin high. Had the read again, but not fast enough (E)
#3 - Really good driver down the middle. Hit a 5-iron onto the green. Really good putt and made par (E)
#4 - Good driver down the left side. Went long and then a Rule of 12 chip (7-iron) to 6-feet and saved par (E)
#5 - little bit of a toe hook, but with the wind in our face it wound up fine. Punched a 5-iron.....from 148 and found the green. 2-putted for par (E)
#6 - 2-hybrid that went just short. Good pitch to a foot and kicked in for par (E)
#7 - hit a driver as hard as I could, but into the wind it didn't go exactly far. Good 3-wood and then my SW hooked because of the wind. 2-putted for par (E)
#8 - Thought I hit a nice punch 8-iron, but it went over. Pretty good pitch to 7-feet, but kept the ball below the cup. Unfortunately, I missed and made bogey (+1)
#9 - Hit a driver well, but pushed it into the water. Dropped. Good 3-wood and then a punch 9-iron onto the green and 2-putted for bogey (+2)
THOUGHTS: Not bad and played well on the back 9. All in spite of helping my dad out. I did get him once to get to 90* shoulder turn, but mostly he gets around 60-70*, which is dramatically better than the 30* shoulder turn he was getting.
