Wishon 949MC Fairway Woods This was Wishon’s first initial model of fairway woods that maximized the COR for a 3-wood, roughly 8-years before Taylor Made came out with the RBZ fairway wood model. The 949MC is a very ‘traditional’ looking for a modern fairway wood. I personally chose this one over the 929HS because I preferred the deeper head design as I felt I was more comfortable off the tee and thru thicker grass with it. One aspect I really like about the club is that it has a weight port in the sole, towards the toe. This does a couple of things: 1. It allows the clubmaker or even the golfer a simpler way to add the amount of weight they want rather than removing the shaft and installing a hosel weight. 2. It allows the clubmaker to add a roughly up to 18 grams of total weight without using lead tape to the head. A clubmaker can install as much as a 9-gram hosel weight and a 9-gram weight in the sole port. The lofts here are stamped at 14, 16.5, 18 and 21° loft. I play with a 14° stamped, but hand picked to 15°. 3JACK
