Here’s your thread for all things 2012 NCAA football. Syracuse plays Northwestern on Saturday at noon, which I will be watching. I have been really high on head coach Doug Marrone and I still am. However, he inherited so little talent that I wonder if he can ever rebuild SU into the team it once was. I think in the end SU may have to keep him around for at least another 4 years, almost regardless of what he does. I do take some solace that Ryan Nassib is a pretty sound senior QB. They’ll play 4 of the first 5 games at the dome, including #1 USC next week. As preposterous as it sounds, I’ve seen crazier things happen. Like when SU beat #1 Nebraska at the dome back in 1984. I think that Cuse team had more talent, but I think Marrone is a better coach than Dick McPherson (who was still a good college coach) and I think Tom Osborne was worlds better than Lane Kiffen. USC has Matt Barkley, but Nebraska had Turner Gill. It won’t happen, but one can dream. My other favorite college team, Boise State, takes on Michigan State on Friday. It’ll be interesting to see how much of the offense will be opened with Joe Southwick now replacing Kellen Moore. Oh yeah, Notre Dame opens in Ireland, playing against Navy. 3JACK

I went to NU...we are seeing this as a close game, but ultimately a win in line with the current spread. NU likes to play close games though, which frequently bites them in the ass at the end of the game. Never good to keep it close in college football.

Boise lost so much on defense I think they have a tough time stopping MSU, throw in that MSU has a top 5 defense I could see this one getting out of hand. Boise is only ranked on rep and the fact with that schedule a bad team is going 8-4.
Not sure what the line is but any less than 14 and I am taking MSU.
