I had recently changed my iron shaft from KBS tour to Steelfiber.
the steel fiber is i 95 compared to 110+ grams on KBS tour .
Firstly I followed some of the advise Mr Tom Wishon gave. Same length as steel with added weight.
Secondly , I added the lead tapes to the back of the Ap1 irons. I did not add any weight or slug to the hosel. I choose to use all lead tapes.
I just started out with D3 on my 7 irons, which felt very nice during test and just used that as a baseline. and my clubfitter's assistance kept reducing and adding tapes till it felt right , the right solidimpact feel and flight..After hitting almost a hundred over balls . We measured the final swing weight.
suprising . its very close to whatever Richie said about MOI matching.
My 9 irons almost hit D5 , and my 4 irons around D2 . Maybe it was not 0.5 increament.
Also . whats interesting is , The tapes like to have diffferent position to feel right on different irons.
namely
4 , 5 bottom of the cavitiy 6 middle of the body 7 irons and below . higeest position
Only then .. the iron will feel solid. eg ... if I put the lead tapes in the same position on top . the iron will feel dead on the 4th and 5th.
Not only the weight but also the Position of the lead tape is important to make the iron feel right.
It really makes a already good equipments even better.

Good to hear.
If anybody is going to the Demo Day for the PGA Merchandise show in January, you can feel this immediately. Every booth will have clubs labeled with their swingweight on them. And if you swing enough D-2 swingweight clubs with different shafts and heads and whatnot, you can immediately tell that they do not feel the same despite being D-2 swingweight.

It's crazy to think now. Swing weighting are junk science ,. Moi Is true science.. What's happening with scientists

Part of the problem has been that it's rather new in the clubfitting world and so there was a learning process, mainly with how to fit for MOI because matching MOI was easy once the MOI machine was built.
I think the issue now is that nobody on the PGA Tour that I know of really does it. We've seen some modified versions of it where clubmakers will do some progressive swingweighting, making the swingweights lighter with the long irons and heavier with the short irons, but it's not a real MOI match nor is it fitted.
I know Richard Kempton has done some MOI fitting for some European Tour pros, once again showing that the Euros are ahead of the curve.
