Why do owners/GMs keep hiring the same old trash every year? I understand the NFL is big business, but why hire proven failures over and over? I don't get it if you're trying to win a SuperBowl.

Because as many retreads that have been busts, there have been twice as many newbies who have been just as bad or worse

Good point! The difference between success and failure is so small in the NFL. Those jobs have to wreck families and health from the stress.
I forgot about Raheem Morris!!!!! Disaster of a newbie head coach IMO.

Some owners are just cheap...i.e. Ralph Wilson. Guys like him are the scourge of the NFL.
Norv always gets hired because he's actually one of the best playcallers in the business and is known for working well with QB's. Owners always buy into the fact that a coach that develops QB's well has some appeal to it.
Wade got hired in Dallas because there was nobody else I would think was worthy of consideration. Garrett got hired because he did earn it, taking a team that quit on way and was 1-7 and turning them into a 5-3 club with Jon Kitna at QB.
I'm surprised Lovie Smith was fired. I'd probably be more apt to hire him than the other guys that were fired.
As long as everybody steers clear of hiring Doug Marrone, I'll be fine.
