Excellent video by Tyler Ferrell on why the trail elbow looks bent for certain players on video (this video will only be up for a week or two): Tyler's website is at www.golfsmartacademy.com and worth every penny. Tyler has seen more AMM3D graphs on the planet except for Phil Cheatham (the creator) and Greg Rose (TPI). He knows his stuff.

Here is a picture of Gary Woodland DTL: I wouldn't be surprised if Gary is around 130* trail elbow bend. Looks very close to 90* doesn't it???

This is very good. The right arm has to straighten, it's just a question of when is it straightening and like Tyler said...how much side tilt you have. I find the wrists more or less react to what the right arm straightening and side bend are doing so you can get the club head on the ball. I tend to not straighten things out early enough, getting a hand path that is too narrow. Then a ton of straightening and #2 PA into impact. I need more straightening, then #2 PA and then #3 PA.

Two factors affects to elbow bend, side bend and how much hands are behind of rotation and if one of those leaks, arms straightens more and right arm always extends, more or less depending of those The other relevant question is, is that geometrical or power factor and measurements shows directly that this straightening don't add hand or club head speed. In some case a bit, but mainly for people who got really low shoulder rotation speed.

Interesting admission that the AMM system does not capture abduction or adduction of the arms, that they need to get that information from video. What is important, of course, isn't just that the right arm is bent at impact, it is that the player's torso is rotated, shoulders are tilted, spine has good side bend, the right arm is adducted, the left arm is abducting, the right shoulder has external rotation and the left shoulder has internal rotation, the right wrist is in extension ad the left wrist is in flexion. It is a complete package, not just what one marker is doing.
