I was curious as to how many people have read this book. It's actually an e-book.
Personally, I really enjoyed the book, one of the best I've ever read. I disagree with some notions, particularly that Hogan was telling us 'the truth' in 5 Lessons and I'm not even convinced that 'the move' was something Hogan did or was his 'secret.'
However, I think it leads us in a very important direction of foot action, using the ground, lower that COG and use that pivot to really drive yourself.
I remember the first time I tried this I had a couple of times where I hit some enormously powerful shots. Like flying a 3-iron past a 228 yard flag and hitting a 3-wood on Trackman that measure around 265 yards, and doing both in the winter.
But, I was starting to learn TGM and wanted to stick with that protocol and not mix things up and now that I'm learning ABS, I'm just applying that use of ground force method instead. Still, I reference SITD quite a bit.
Plus, there's a lot more information and insight that I found incredibly helpful. And Mike has that type of 'charm' that makes it fun to read.
One thing I also loved was how the book was designed as it allows for free updates and has YouTube videos attached to it. I've been contemplating writing a golf book of my own to help friends who are higher handicappers who always ask me a lot of questions on the swing and have the book serve as a reference guide and this is the way I'd like to see it written.
Anybody else have experience with this?
