Just heard from Edel Golf that they are coming in with a new set of irons. The irons will look virtually the same as their old set: However, they will be priced at $180 an iron instead of the $350 per iron price they have now. They are incorporating a fitting system for the irons. I don't know exactly what that entails, but I would believe that it is similar to the wedge fitting system. I spoke briefly with Bobby Dean about MOI matching in 2012. He seemed to like the idea, but the logistics were an issue. I will find more about the new irons and fitting system at the PGA Show in January. 3JACK

What was it about the logistics that prohibits them from MOI matching? Seems like a rather simple process, no?

As my dad would say... 'Where in the HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?' I think the issues are two fold. One is the fitting process and then the other is getting the clubs made so they match the MOI. One would have to figure out the MOI which is rather simple if you have a MOI machine. And then Edel would have to make each set to that MOI. So you would either end of giving each iron fitter a MOI machine or if they can't do that, you would have to make sure that each demo 6-iron is exactly the same and then get a record of the specs. There was a rumor that PING was going to try its hand at MOI matching, but I don't know if it is true or not. I think there is a way to do it if you had some really smart engineers thinking of a way to do it. It would likely require adjustable weights on the head. 3JACK

Work, new baby, etc... yadda yadda... you know the drill, lol. I still lurked, hopefully I can be a productive member again. Time will tell, lol.
Tip weights would solve the problem, but there would be a fair amount of manual labor involved. A company like Ping should have no problem doing it. Heck, any Wishon fitter can git 'er done without thinking twice.
