Interesting article from Russ Ryden on measuring and understanding shaft deflection. www.golfshaftreviews.info/index.php/golf-shaft-deflection/I am still struggling to fully understand what is going on here. But if I have it right, he's saying that there is a shaft bend profile and then a shaft deflection 'profile' for each shaft. So you could have 2 shafts with similar bend profiles causing similar ball flight results, but the deflection profile in the release can cause the shafts with the similar bend profile to feel different. I think this would explain what is going on with the Nippon shafts as the Nippon Modus shafts feel very nice and I've heard nothing but rave reviews about the Super Peening models. Something I'll have to pay close attention to over the next few months. 3JACK

I love my Super Peening Orange stiff that I finally got toward the end of the season last year. I currently have them in 4 - P, and would either like to add them to my wedges, or get the Nippon wedge shafts. My ball flight is much straighter with less curve making the dispersion much tighter than the S300s I was using. They came with ProSoft inserts, but I can't comment one way or the other about them since I haven't tried the shaft without them.
