I didn't touch a club in 3 days and just came off driving 8 hours from Orlando. We played OAC today and it was wet and the greens were still feeling the effects of the aeration 3 weeks ago.
We started off #18 today.
#18 - Good driver to 190. Hit hybrid in the drink. Dropped and knocked it on green. 2-putted. Made a nice 2-putt from where I was to save bogey (+1)
#1 - Bad driver down the right side. Hit a 4-iron well, but mis-clubbed well short. Chipped on with a LW to about 7 feet. Made the putt (+1)
#2 - Good driver down the middle. Thined a 9-iron into the bunker. Couldn't get it close and 2-putted (+2)
#3 - Thin heeled a 4-iron into the bunker. Nice long bunker shot to about 5-feet. Made the putt for a nice sandy (+2)
#4 - Weak driver down the right side. Hit a good 7-iron, but mis-clubbed short and it plugged in the bunker. Hatcheted it out of the bunker and 2-putted (+3)
#5 - So-so driver down the middle. Hit a good-5-iron to keep the ball in play since I was off the reservation at this point. Thinned to the back part of the green and made a 20 foot putt for birdie (+2)
#6 - Really poor 3-wood off the tee that found the middle of the fairway. Pushed a 6-iron right of the green. Hit a good pitch, but it stopped on the wet part of the green. 2-putted from 15 feet. (+2)
#7 - Mediocre driver down the left side. Hit 9-iron on the front part of the green. 2-putted from 15 feet (+2)
#8 - Hit a thin 8-iron to 30 feet. 2-putted from there. (+2)
#9 - Pretty good driver down the right side. Hit a 7-iron poorly on a poor lie into the bunker. Caught a long sand shot heavy and 2-putted from 35 feet (+3)
#10 - Decent driver down the right side. Finally caught an iron flush (9-iron). Made a 15 foot putt for birdie (+2)
#11 - Another mediocre 3-wood that found the dead center part of the fairway. Hit PW to 25 feet and drained that for another birdie (+1)
#12 - Poor driver into the fairway bunker. Hit the lip of teh fairway bunker and then laid up with a 5-iron to about 85 yards. Hit SW, but pulled it and 2-putted from about 40 feet. Excellent 2-putt (+2)
#13 - Awful 6-iron well short of the green. Hit a good pitch, but it caught the wet part of the fringe and stopped there. 2-putted from 15 feet (+3)
#14 - Finally caught a driver square down the left side. Hit the LW like I wanted to, but it went short and into the bunker. Then made a great bunker shot out of the lip to 5-feet and made the sandy (+3)
#15 - Big driver down the middle. Hit 7-iron flush (finally), but hit it a little too far. Hit a chip that was right like I wanted to, but I had too much club and it went to 10-feet. Toed my putt a little and missed left (+4)
#16 - Another poor iron shot (5-iron) and well short of the green. Decent pitch to about 10 feet. Made the 10-footer for par (+4)
#17 - Hit a big driver down the left side. Hit LW into the green, needed a SW. 2-putted from 20 feet (+4)
I can't complain too much because the time I had off wasn't condusive to great play and I didn't get to hit any balls on the range before the round. Putted very well and did concentrate more on keeping the ball below the cup. Started to come around by hole #14. And went on the range and got things down.
I think I was using a little too much arms and not enough hands and Module 2 work. Will go back to the module work tonight.
