Only 9-holes at Eastwood. The range was out of golf balls and may be out the next couple of days. So I walked, the weather was WINDY, good 3-club wind. First time I've walked a course in years.
#1 - Wind right in our face. Saturday it was driver-9 iron for me. Today? Driver-5 iron. 2-putted from 30 feet (E)
#2 - Good driver down the middle. But the 2nd shot was right into the teeth of the wind. Hit a SW that floated big time into the wind, but went to 5 feet...good guess on my part on how hard to hit it. Made the birdie putt (-1)
#3 - Big cross wind that I though was going into us enough. Flushed a 3-iron that went over the green. Mediocre pitch with a LW and 2-putted from 12 feet for bogey (E)
#4 - The brutal hole. Hit a driver down the middle, but the 200 yard approach was into the wind. Hit a 3-wood that hit the bunker and rolled out of the bunker. Chipped to a foot and kicked in for par (E)
#5 - Toe, pull hooked a driver well into the left rough. Hit a hybrid short of the left bunker. Chipped on to 6-feet and missed the putt. Didn't deserve a par there (+1)
#6 - Good driver down the middle. Big 3-wood just short of the water. Caught a SW a little thin, not enough Module 2, and didn't get it to the tier. 2-putted from 15 feet for par (+1)
#7 - Good driver down the middle. Saturday I needed a driver and a 7-iron to the green...today it was driver-PW with the big downwind. Hit the PW to 15 feet and just missed the putt (+1)
#8 - Fired a 4-iron right at the flagstick but a little too much. First putt didn't play enough break, but made the 5-foot comebacker (+1)
#9 - Good driver down the middle. Hit an 8-iron, but wound up just short as the tailwind was a lot, but it also knocked down the ball as well. I then used the Rule of 12 and hit a 8-iron to 3-feet and made the par (+1)
Decent round for not getting any time on the range and the hectic past few days. Got to get back into the M2 work as a few days away from working on it. Fun to get out in the wind again and to get out walking again.
37 (+1)
6/7 fwy
5/9 GIR
15 putts
2/4 scramble
