Less expensive way to get iron shafts?

I'm looking for less expensive ways to get sets of iron shafts than buying them brand new, and I was thinking that places that do club work would typically have used shafts that they would want to get rid of and not having hanging around. Is this a good way to go? Or is eBay still the best route? How about finding cheap clubs on ebay where you don't intend to use the heads, but only the shafts? Has anyone here done that before?

Sets of DG, KBS, and Project X pulls always appear on the for sale forum at GolfWRX.com, I've never had a problem dealing there, but the sets of pulls do go quick! Last set of pulls of S300 I saw brand new went for $70 I think.

Dynamic Gold usually goes for $12-$15 a pop. KBS goes for $25 a pop. Project X is like $37.

For me, finding the labor cheap enough to install the shaft is usually what I'm looking for. I've seen as low as $10 a shaft for labor to as high as $25 a shaft for labor. Of course, if you can install them yourself, that's a cheap way to do it. But I try to leave my club repair to the pros for the most part.

I've never thought of iron shafts as expensive, especially not when you consider the cost of a premium driver shaft. But if you're just messing about shaft pulls are the way to go...

The above is true only if you aren't an avid collector and player of older stuff...I have SIX sets of what I hope to be gamers...4 sets need re-shafting so it adds up! This applies only to certifiable golf nutcases!! ;D
