This time at North Shore Golf Club. I was using the Apex PC's here as well. Weather was beautiful.
#1 - Good drive just short of the green. Hit a nice pitch that almost went in the cup for an eagle. Made the 5-footer for birdie (-1)
#2 - Good driver down the middle. Hit a 9-iron well but a little long and 2-putted from 33 feet (-1)
#3 - Weird drive as I hit it well, but it pull drawed and went a bit high and only went about 220 yards. Had to layup because you really can't see the green from there and there's trouble up by the green. Hit a SW to about 12 feet and hit the putt too hard (E)
#4 - Another driver it well, that didn't go too far. But I hit a 6-iron to about 20 feet and 2-putted from there (E)
#5 - High, pull hook into the waste bunker. Almost hit my next shot into the water. Chipped to 5 feet and missed the par save (+1)
#6 - Hit a 3-wood well, but just pushed it. Wound up buried in the bunker and up against the lip of the bunker. Then I hit probably the greatest bunker shot of my life and one of the best bunker shots you'll see for awhile to about 3 feet. I had 1 foot out of the bunker and 1 foot in and just hit a prayer. Made the 3-foot par save (+1)
#7 - Another high, pull hook but found the left side of the fairway. Good 3-hybrid safety to 110 yards and hit a PW to 20 feet, but missed the birdie (+1)
#8 - Caught a 9-iron a little thin and wound up on the front side of the green. 2-putted from 35 feet. (+1)
#9 - Another high driver down the middle. Hit a 3-wood well, but high. Then stuck a 4-iron with a sizeable push draw to 10 feet, but I missed the birdie putt (+1)
#10 - Another high hook, but this one down the middle and actually pretty long. Hit a PW to 30 feet and should've hit a 9-iron. 2-putted for par (+1)
#11 - This was a good driver down the middle. Hit a good 3-wood to about 110 yards. Hit a PW to 6-feet, but missed the birdie (+1)
#12 - Another high hooking driver. Caught a 5-iron on a tight lie a little fat and wound up short of the green. Easy pitch to 5-feet and made the par save (+1)
#13 - A good driver hear followed by a flushed 6-iron to 18 feet. Good putt, but lipped out (+1)
#14 - Flushed a 6-iron but this wound up being a lot tougher pin position than I thought. The pin was located middle left of the green and if you wind up short and at the flag, you're in the water. But if you miss 20 feet right, you hit a swale and roll well off the green, like I did. Hit a chip to 12 feet and missed the par save (+2)
#15 - Another high hooking driver that found the right rough. Hit a good hybrid from a tough lie to 90 yards. Hit a SW to 3-feet and made the birdie (+1)
#16 - Another high drawing tee shot that almost found the hazard. Hit an okay SW from where I was and 2-putted for par (+1)
#17 - Only about 220 yards today and I flushed a 3-hybrid that hit the right side of the green and almost went into the hazard and then made a poor pitch and 2-putted for bogey (+2)
#18 - Another high driver but down the middle. Caught a 3-iron flush, but closed the face and missed left. Another mediocre pitch and 2-putted for bogey (+3)
The iron play improved quite a bit. I only missed 2 shots all day (a chubby 5-iron on #12 and a slightly thin 9-iron on #8). The driver killed me all day long, which is unusual for me. I was closing the clubface for some reason and I think I was swinging well out to the right today My putting started off pretty well, but fizzled down the stretch.
Tomorrow I plan on fully working on Module 3 and really keep Module 2 in mind. I went to Eastwood's range on the way home and once I go the footaction and knee action down, I couldn't miss...even with a 2-iron with a very stiff shaft in it.
