Thrust what is it, does it avoid the lefts?

Around 20 seconds Colin and Lynn talk about the thrust. Is this something for only low shots? Or is this a good for shots when you really really dont want to go left. A describtion of thrust could be great specifically related to the video.

Like to block out one side of the course this year.

I think he was talking about a cross line thrust Per 2-J-3 of the TGM rather than using plane line tracing....thats how I took the comment.
