I am about to throw in the towel-I have had all kinds of short game lessons(so I understand set up, ball position and bad things like throwaway etc)-play to a three hdcp; but would be scratch or better if I didn't jerk, stab, throw-away, slautter, 4-5 pitches/chips a round. In practice I can stick'em close to the hole-but under the slightest pressure my shoulder and right arm feel like they have a mind of their own...Shorts chips I'm ok, it is the 15-50 yarders that I have been a mess at for years. I have an uncontrolable lashing from the top-like the club or my shoulders breaks the plane OTT-I have had some minor success in the past by doing an exagerated figure 8; but this is only a bandaid and soon stops working-I am really about to throw in the towl... long post-but any suggestions appreciated Doug

have you messed around with a lagging club head take away on your pitches....thats helped me when struggling because its a momentum type move into the ball with the change of direction, makes it tough to get flippy,

mu short game is probably the only part I am not struggling with right now. I basically think of the short game as basic and acquired motion strokes from the The Golfing Machine. It really works on compression and can take me anywhere from chips to out to about 70yds.

yep, if I have a crappy range sessions I immediately go to short game area with a PW and a 60' and hit like 100 of those going back and forth between the two. Low shots, high shots, messing around with the hinges etc..
