Charity golf day out a Kings' Island. They've got these little boats that take you out from the car park. Like 'Apocalypse Now'. With golf clubs. I love the smell of balata in the morning. Anyway. Finished three over. The crazy part was duffing five chips or pitches in the first six holes! Honest duffs. Some close to double-hits. Fortunately two were on par fives where I was pretty close in two and then got up and down from bunkers for pars. Not for a long time had I had to sit down and give myself a good talking to on the golf course, but I needed it. I ended up sticking the ball much further forward in my stance and didn't duff any more, so it worked. Otherwise my striking was pretty good. I missed a few greens when I hit irons better than I expected and went through the back. It is hard to get annoyed with those. In fact, I ended up playing everything a little bit further forward and I was hitting it well by the end. A penalty shot on the last was a sad way to finish. Otherwise, my best round for a while. Will get to the range some time and have a look at my ball position. I might be better off putting it forward for a while as I am clearly hanging back and hitting hooks and duffing the shorter ones.
