I have a B-Day party to take the kids to today so I was in a rush to get out the door... as a result I AGAIN did not warm up on the range.
As a result the 9 holes looked like this:
1. Double Bogey
2. Double Bogey
3. Bogey
4. Quintuple Bogey (par 3. hooked a 5i into the rough left of the green and couldn't find the ball. There's no hazard, no trees, nothing; but the ball was gone. I dropped one, took a penalty, etc, etc, etc... snowman!) I couldn't walk back to the tee to play another and there was no reason to hit a provisional... this is one of those cases where "local rules" apply. The round was 2 1/2 hrs as it was. If you lose a ball in the rough you take a penalty and drop one where you think in ended up... sucks, but it's just the way it is.
5. Bogey (With a 250 yard drive with my 3 wood, THAT was a nice one.)
6. Par (Best drive of my life... no wind... a 330 yards. Turned the corner of a slight dogleg left, dead center of the fairway. 378 yard par four and my second shot was 45 yards... still only managed par, lol.)
7. Par
8. Par
9. Bogey
It is absolutely imperative that I warm up at the range before a round. When I shot my 82 I hit a small bucket before the round and putted for about 20 minutes... it's no wonder I shot my best round by 4 strokes. I didn't find my swing until the 5th hole today and it was incredibly frustrating during the process.
My putter was absolute JUNK today. Short game was HORRIBLE. I duffed a chip from the fringe on one occasion. I was working on doing the rule of 12, but apparently thought it was the rule of 12" because that's how far the ball went.
All-in-all the round sucked, but the last 5 holes left me feeling better. I really really really have to hit the range for a while before I play. That's all.
