9-holes at Eastwood with persimmon and sneakers. May have made a breakthrough on my M3 work in ABS. I e-mailed Lag about it and he said yes, I really made a breakthrough of sorts because what I was thinking will actually be applied in a future module as well. But, I'll keep a lid on it for now until it gets confirmed on camera.
Played with the PC5's today.
#1 - 2-iron decently struck down the middle. Didn't pay attention to the wind and drawed a 9-iron into the bunker. Nice bunker shot to a foot from the cup and kicked in the par putt (E)
#2 - Caught a driver a little high off the clubface, but down the middle. The wind was behind me, so it went a pretty good distance. Flushed a 5-iron to 60 yards and misplayed the distance on the approach. Good putt, but not enough speed. (E)
#3 - Flushed a 7-iron, but not enough club and wound up just short. Hit the 'safe zone' on a Rule of 12 chip, but these greens are slow and left in 8-feet short. Good putt, but didn't go in (+1)
#4 - Hit a low draw and hard. Hit a 4-iron on a downhill lie okay, but found the greenside bunker. Nice bunker shot to 6-feet (tough shot) and then drilled the par save (+1)
#5 - Another low draw down the middle. Tight lie, but I flushed a 6-iron hard and hit it on the long side of the green. I think this breakthrough is really working because the iron play has been good so far. Left my first putt well short, but drilled a 9-footer which was a tough putt to save the par (+1)
#6 - Hit a driver a little high on the face. I was in a rush on that shot because the 2-some ahead of me let me play thru. Hit a good 3-hybrid down the middle and then flushed a 6-iron to 12 feet and drilled the birdie putt (E)
#7 - I hit this driver well, but it sliced quite a bit and I thought for sure it was gong into the water. But, I wound up a-okay and with a good lie. Hit a good 8-iron to 18 feet and made that birdie putt (-1)
#8 - Flushed a 7-iron to about 25 feet. Left the birdie well short and tapped in for par (-1)
#9 - A low draw, but I made it over the mounds. Had a very downhill lie though and I threw the 'swinging left' and 'breakthrough' stuff out the wind just to hit the ball well on the downhill lie. I did, but just missed the green to the right. Another Rule of 12 chip, this time with a PW and I knocked it to a foot and tapped in for par (-1)
Very happy with this round. I struck the sweetspot of the driver pretty well, but didn't really hit any great drives. Did strike the irons really well and the 'good speed putts' statistic has me more focused on speed and I think it's helping my putting.
