Nobody can say that I'm not dedicated. I hit 2 hours of balls at Eastwood, then drove 40 minutes to hit balls on Trackman for 1 hours, then drove back 40 minutes to play 18 at Eastwood, then worked on Module 3 of ABS for an hour. Mainly working on aiming my body slighty right of where I normally aim it at address and my normal Module 3 work...keeping that left shoulder and hands low as I pivot thru and past impact. Also wanted to try some 'hit the driver on the upswing with a CP Release' shots as well. Course in solid condition, got really breezy on the back 9.
#1 - Hit a good 3-wood, but thought it would kick into the drink. It didn't and stayed in the fairway. Flushed a 9-iron to 15 feet and just missed the birdie (E)
#2 - Caught a driver a tad thin, but straight down the middle. Did the same with a 3-wood Good pitch to 10 feet, but just missed that putt as well. (E)
#3 - Flushed a 5-iron right at the flag to 15 feet. Bad read, good speed. Made par (E)
#4 - Face got closed on the driver and I hit a low pull draw which you can't do on this whole. Smoked a 3-wood, but left myself short of the green with a tough shot. Mediocre flop shot to 15 feet. Good putt, but missed and made bogey (+1)
#5 - I can CP Release the driver or come very close to it and hit up, but I have to aim the body wayyyyy right of the target and aim the face a little right of the target. This was smoked and was a slight pull of the target, but down the middle and probably 40 yards past my normal distance. I then flushed a 6-iron to 20 feet and hit the putt well, but a little too much speed an tapped in for par (+1)
#6 - Hit a driver a bit thin and a litle push. Got a little under it from the rough with a 3-hybrid. I then flushed a 8-iron to 4 feet and drained the birdie (E)
#7 - Good driver right down the pipe, almost hit the 150 marker. Flushed a 7-iron to 10 feet. Got a bit lucky on this putt as I hit it off the heel a tad and it started out right and then broke slightly left and stayed straight and went in the cup. I had it at left edge, breaking a tad to the right. (-1)
#8 - Flushed a 5-iron, but the wind knocked the ball just short of the green. Rule of 12 chip to a foot and kicked in for par (-1)
#9 - Aimed at the 1st fairway and hit it perfectly. It's a shorter way to the hole as well, but I don't have a GPS, so I don't know the yardage. Flushed a 5-iron at the flag, but the wind caught it and it went into the bunker. Poor effort on a long bunker shot and then I 2-putted from 30 feet (E)
#10 - Good driver down the middle. Good 3-wood up the right side. Decent 3-iron ('66 PC5 3-iron) to about 40 feet and 2-putted from there (E)
#11 - Good driver down the middle, but into the wind. Flushed a 3-iron that was Flagsville, but went about 30 feet past the cup. Nice 1st putt and tapped in for par (E)
#12 - Flushed a 3-hybrid, but the wind took it into the bunker. Really nice long bunker shot to 5 feet, but I missed the putt (+1)
#13 - Another driver that almost hit the 150 marker. This hole is beyond stupid as the approach is a complete guessing game. Pushed sliced a 7-iron and almost went into the hazard. Pitched a SW to the fringe and then drilled a 20-footer to save par (+1)
#14 - Flushed a 4-iron into the wind and then left my first putt from 40-feet about 5-feet short, but made the par putt (+1)
#15 - Perfect driver way down there and down the middle. Caught a 9-iron a little thin with a pull, but to 20 feet. 2-putted from there, but should've given it a better run at birdie with a better approach shot (+1)
#16 - Hit another 'upswing driver' down the middle. This one went about 25 yards further than my normal driver. Good 3-wood and then had a LW all over the flag, but about 20 feet too long and had a tough putt. Ran my first one about 4 feet bye and made the comebacker (+1)
#17 - Tried to hit a small pull fade, but over-pulled it a tad and still found the fairway, just a longer approach. Caught a 6-iron a bit off the toe and a little fat, but wound up about 15 feet away. This wasn't bad speed since it was such a downhill putt, but it didn't get in my range of a GTP (Good Touch Putt) and I made par anyway (+1)
#18 - Crushed a driver down the middle. Then I pulled a 8-iron a tad. I couldn't really see the flagstick into the sun. 2-putted from there (+1)
Today was simply a great day for my golf game. Trackman was really useful and I could see the M3 work paying dividends. Simply shocked at how awesome my driver impact conditions are. It's fun to have the mystery taken out of your game and have a clear direction of what you need to do and then apply it on the course.
